It's the time of year where everyone has started wishing happy new year.. Yes.. It's new years eve :-) I also wish everyone and myself a very happy new year. Happy 2016.
Looking back at 2015, the year has fairly been nice to me.. Some of the memorable ones can be like that of my MD degree completion and becoming a lecturer. Next and most important is my status becoming married, and spending my life happily at present. Of course, later on, I might say OMG, that incident that changed my life forever :-P
Other things of 2015 were like that of watching a great movie in the name of Baahubali, being in head and neck posting and learning radiation oncology, and meeting 4 lovely kids at the same time.. ( my nephews and my wife's nephews). Then travelling abroad with my sweetheart, and yeah, transferring my internet from a 512 kbps to 40MBPS one :-P now that's surely memorable. :-)
There were some sad moments for me like the floods, including the worst experience of driving a usual 15 min one to three hours, and also water inside car after which it doesn't work, a spiked up EB bill, and some career wise. There have also been some disheartening moments, but come on, this is new year, and its time not to talk about the sad ones. Overall, Its a excellent year, and I am waiting for a very special one next year.. :-)
I am waiting hopefully to face the next year with some new challenges, both in professional and personal life. Whatever it is, I wish everyone a healthy and happy new year 2016.

A Memorable 2015..

Simple topic, Internet!!
Everyone knows speedtest.net. I always check my speed, and for the past six months, i used to get a speed of about 400kbps with Tata photon. Complained to them, and one person gave me an answer. Sir, please be happy. You atleast get 400kbps. I was really angry, because we dont get the proper service for which we pay. And the other thing they tell, is High Utilization Area. If they cant control how much connections that tower will use, then why do they actually run a network?? According to Indian laws, a common man is useless. Anyone who has high influence, can do anything. People like us, can just wonder. People like me, will just check speedtest.net. I used to wonder when broadbands in our country will even cross 10 mbps, when the rest of world enjoy speeds like more than 25mbps.
There came fibreoptics, and i was searching for a ACT connection. Like fate was written, it was told that they need to get proper permission, and hence, it will take some time for them to come to my area. Then a local advertisement came to my aid. Got the connection from the same area which turned out to be a very good company, and there, Tada! Speed is 10 mbps. Upgraded, now speed is showing 50 Mbps. Folks, thats, the full speedometer of speedtest.net.
Now coming to the topic, i was just thinking, if my service provider can provide me with such a high speed connection, then how does he connects to the internet, and with what speed??? Then i did some research, and realized, in this modern era, Google has taken over everything. For everyone, Internet means Google. Internet means Facebook. Internet means Whatsapp. Internet is, ofcourse, we dont use it properly.
I realized, that, from the consumer level, the Internet Service providers, called the ISPs, connect to the Tier 3 networks, Tier 2 networks, way upto Tier 1 network. Tier 1 network means the ISPs have full access. I know it sounds Greek and latin, but with my poor understanding of networking, i realized, Tier 1 network access, in this world, has been maintained by very few companies. Among them, are all the USA based companies like Sprint, AT&T, etc. In India, Tata communications has a Tier 1 network. Folks, those people, told me High Utilization Area!! So, to be honest, if you guys can get hands on fibernet connection, then close your eyes and change it. It is faster, cheaper, and it gives way more productivity rather than waiting for a DSL or ADSL connection. Btw, Fiberoptics transfers signals in the form of light and then convert to electric signals. Pardon me if any mistake is there in this, as i am not a pro to know about this in detail.
So, like a sage, my brain got reactivated, and then i had a long standing doubt which i didnt clear for the past two years. What is 4G and 4G LTE?? I knew that both are not the same, and it has a subtle difference.
Still in confusion, and according to the fact that Internet means Google, I knelt down to my eternal protector, who has saved me from countless situations, be it answering in boards, or answering others, etc. As it turns out, 2G has circuit pathway, and 3G has a packet transfer pathway. Your voice calls and all can use 2G, but to upgrade its speed, 3G HSPA came into existence, which gave 3.2mbps, and its upgrade HSPA+, upto a speed of 7.2 mbps. The International Union of Telecommunications, told, 4G, its super upgrade, should deliver speed of about 100mbps per second, and wireless spot of about 1Gigabit per second. This speed is still unachievable over a mobile network, and hence, companies got in between speed and named as 4G LTE. LTE stands for Long term evolution, and it should give a speed of about 21 to 42mbps. As our Airtel challenge ad, they claim the fastest, and yes they are at present; but speed i get in the centre of metropolitan is about 8mbps. Its just marketing strategy, and 4G LTE came to be used interchangeably as 4G. If we get into a time where the International union rules are met, then we will be having a super charged smartphone, which can do anything in a fraction of second.
And as the saying goes, Internet means Google, but for a change, if you are searching for your profession and others, try Google Scholar (which displays first when you search) also when you search. It will give you better search results than the regular Google does.
Internet means Google. Internet means Social media. Internet means messengers. For once, get a life, by using them when you need.
Until next time. :)

Its been a long time...
It's been a long time since I have written my blog. It's always interesting to do all vetti stuffs when you are in a class or a conference. To be honest, on such occasions, smartphones are bliss.
I have been rekindled with my smartphone interest and again updated my mind with all sorts of phones with all sorts of prices. My opinion, all branded phones give a good configuration at a high price whereas unbranded give at a very cheap price. It's the companies in between these spectrum to buy as they give value for both your money and configuration. One such example is lenovo which gives a good configuration at a very good price. But the ultimate is none other than oneplus two, and I am happy I am inside the two lakh registrants. :-)
Lot of changes for me now, from student to consultant, and most importantly, single to married. Changing status do feel good. But I am waiting to see what happens on the long run ...:-P
I hope one day, I will see my whole country being very clean like that of abroad. As of now, that appears impossible.
I don't know what else to write now, but my blog will never end without film news. Go see bahubali if you haven't. Enjoy.
Until next time...
