It's the time of year where everyone has started wishing happy new year.. Yes.. It's new years eve :-) I also wish everyone and myself a very happy new year. Happy 2016.
Looking back at 2015, the year has fairly been nice to me.. Some of the memorable ones can be like that of my MD degree completion and becoming a lecturer. Next and most important is my status becoming married, and spending my life happily at present. Of course, later on, I might say OMG, that incident that changed my life forever :-P
Other things of 2015 were like that of watching a great movie in the name of Baahubali, being in head and neck posting and learning radiation oncology, and meeting 4 lovely kids at the same time.. ( my nephews and my wife's nephews). Then travelling abroad with my sweetheart, and yeah, transferring my internet from a 512 kbps to 40MBPS one :-P now that's surely memorable. :-)
There were some sad moments for me like the floods, including the worst experience of driving a usual 15 min one to three hours, and also water inside car after which it doesn't work, a spiked up EB bill, and some career wise. There have also been some disheartening moments, but come on, this is new year, and its time not to talk about the sad ones. Overall, Its a excellent year, and I am waiting for a very special one next year.. :-)
I am waiting hopefully to face the next year with some new challenges, both in professional and personal life. Whatever it is, I wish everyone a healthy and happy new year 2016.

A Memorable 2015..

Simple topic, Internet!!
Everyone knows speedtest.net. I always check my speed, and for the past six months, i used to get a speed of about 400kbps with Tata photon. Complained to them, and one person gave me an answer. Sir, please be happy. You atleast get 400kbps. I was really angry, because we dont get the proper service for which we pay. And the other thing they tell, is High Utilization Area. If they cant control how much connections that tower will use, then why do they actually run a network?? According to Indian laws, a common man is useless. Anyone who has high influence, can do anything. People like us, can just wonder. People like me, will just check speedtest.net. I used to wonder when broadbands in our country will even cross 10 mbps, when the rest of world enjoy speeds like more than 25mbps.
There came fibreoptics, and i was searching for a ACT connection. Like fate was written, it was told that they need to get proper permission, and hence, it will take some time for them to come to my area. Then a local advertisement came to my aid. Got the connection from the same area which turned out to be a very good company, and there, Tada! Speed is 10 mbps. Upgraded, now speed is showing 50 Mbps. Folks, thats, the full speedometer of speedtest.net.
Now coming to the topic, i was just thinking, if my service provider can provide me with such a high speed connection, then how does he connects to the internet, and with what speed??? Then i did some research, and realized, in this modern era, Google has taken over everything. For everyone, Internet means Google. Internet means Facebook. Internet means Whatsapp. Internet is, ofcourse, we dont use it properly.
I realized, that, from the consumer level, the Internet Service providers, called the ISPs, connect to the Tier 3 networks, Tier 2 networks, way upto Tier 1 network. Tier 1 network means the ISPs have full access. I know it sounds Greek and latin, but with my poor understanding of networking, i realized, Tier 1 network access, in this world, has been maintained by very few companies. Among them, are all the USA based companies like Sprint, AT&T, etc. In India, Tata communications has a Tier 1 network. Folks, those people, told me High Utilization Area!! So, to be honest, if you guys can get hands on fibernet connection, then close your eyes and change it. It is faster, cheaper, and it gives way more productivity rather than waiting for a DSL or ADSL connection. Btw, Fiberoptics transfers signals in the form of light and then convert to electric signals. Pardon me if any mistake is there in this, as i am not a pro to know about this in detail.
So, like a sage, my brain got reactivated, and then i had a long standing doubt which i didnt clear for the past two years. What is 4G and 4G LTE?? I knew that both are not the same, and it has a subtle difference.
Still in confusion, and according to the fact that Internet means Google, I knelt down to my eternal protector, who has saved me from countless situations, be it answering in boards, or answering others, etc. As it turns out, 2G has circuit pathway, and 3G has a packet transfer pathway. Your voice calls and all can use 2G, but to upgrade its speed, 3G HSPA came into existence, which gave 3.2mbps, and its upgrade HSPA+, upto a speed of 7.2 mbps. The International Union of Telecommunications, told, 4G, its super upgrade, should deliver speed of about 100mbps per second, and wireless spot of about 1Gigabit per second. This speed is still unachievable over a mobile network, and hence, companies got in between speed and named as 4G LTE. LTE stands for Long term evolution, and it should give a speed of about 21 to 42mbps. As our Airtel challenge ad, they claim the fastest, and yes they are at present; but speed i get in the centre of metropolitan is about 8mbps. Its just marketing strategy, and 4G LTE came to be used interchangeably as 4G. If we get into a time where the International union rules are met, then we will be having a super charged smartphone, which can do anything in a fraction of second.
And as the saying goes, Internet means Google, but for a change, if you are searching for your profession and others, try Google Scholar (which displays first when you search) also when you search. It will give you better search results than the regular Google does.
Internet means Google. Internet means Social media. Internet means messengers. For once, get a life, by using them when you need.
Until next time. :)

Its been a long time...
It's been a long time since I have written my blog. It's always interesting to do all vetti stuffs when you are in a class or a conference. To be honest, on such occasions, smartphones are bliss.
I have been rekindled with my smartphone interest and again updated my mind with all sorts of phones with all sorts of prices. My opinion, all branded phones give a good configuration at a high price whereas unbranded give at a very cheap price. It's the companies in between these spectrum to buy as they give value for both your money and configuration. One such example is lenovo which gives a good configuration at a very good price. But the ultimate is none other than oneplus two, and I am happy I am inside the two lakh registrants. :-)
Lot of changes for me now, from student to consultant, and most importantly, single to married. Changing status do feel good. But I am waiting to see what happens on the long run ...:-P
I hope one day, I will see my whole country being very clean like that of abroad. As of now, that appears impossible.
I don't know what else to write now, but my blog will never end without film news. Go see bahubali if you haven't. Enjoy.
Until next time...

Lollipop v5.0
On a duty based, mosquito rich, sleepless night, I finally received something for which i have been waiting for 10 days.. For which I was feverishly checking my phone like a mad man whether update had come.. And finally updated a 480mb file after which I was seeing wonders in my phone. My phone got updated to lollipop v 5.0. The moment I was waiting for as a proud owner of Nexus 5.
The first thing I noticed with lollipop is not appreciable. Phone turning on was slower.. It took more time to do so. One thing I didn't want it to.
Some facts about lollipop:
1. It has a very good notification screen. Which you can set to hide or show sensitive content with phone lock.
2. One finger drop shows notifications. Two finger drop shows full quick settings.
3. Flash light is default app.
4. Phone won't be in auto rotate mode. Go to accessibility and change. From then onwards you will see Portrait in quick settings.
5. No gallery app. I hate it. Default photos only. To lock the photos with app lock, you have to lock google + and then photos.
6. No need office suite. Comes with default docs excel and slides.
7. Priority interruptions, a welcome feature.
8. There is a hidden game inside settings in developer mode. Believe me.. Its difficult to cross even two lollipops.
9. Calls come like a sleek notification when you are using something. Very good indeed.
10. Pinning tabs. To unlock u need to press two keys together.
11. Appearance. Love it. My favorite teal based theme.
12. Faster. Charge also stays longer.
13. Third party apps that toggle mobile data like battery apps won't work.
14. White based menu which is not that great compared to KitKat.
15. Ease of use regarding quick settings is better. No need to press WiFi button and go inside and switch on. It directly works. So are Bluetooth and the rest.
Overall, my personal preference with lollipop is much better. The main thing is that, there is no network issues as of now which was a big question with nexus 5. No network issues and a faster updated user interface. You should probably upgrade when you wish. When you get such an update. Wait like a mad man or wait for OTA update.. Truly upgraded. Hats off to Google.
Until next time..

Lollipop
Hey there folks.. Its been a long long long time since I blogged.. Was quite busy with some thesis work and being a final year pg.. It is difficult to blog also.. Biggest thesis headache over and yippy..
Presented the same topic in state conference and won award for best presentation. :-)
Technical side I havent had much to explore.. But I am eagerly awaiting for the lollipop update for nexus 5.. When I got other phones, they said android gets updated first for nexus devices. This time they said moto x will receive first.. Pissed off with that news.. But anyway lollipop update is on way, and hence, should sit tight. There is nothing else to do.
Seems lollipop update will have a great material design change and be faster and smoother, with a rich look to the android. Already I love kit Kat, and if lollipop is gonna be the same as how it boasts, then I ll enjoy it to the fullest.
Coming to nexus 5, the first thing I noticed and enjoy is that, it is very fast. 2 GB RAM and enough internal storage, I love it. Highlight is the HDR + camera which takes amazing quality pictures that makes me feel that I am in a totally different world. Downside?? I have some network issues initially, but now I don't. So nexus is not 100% perfect. Hope they rectify it with lollipop update.
Nexus goes on par with s5.. Except for camera everything is the same. With a 20k price difference.. But same thing can be told for nexus 5 and moto g second gen..
Whenever i see apple iPad or iPhone I feel like I should own one.. Technically apple iOS may not be superior to android. But feelwise.. Apple phones are excellent. And tabs? IPad and macbooks have the best battery back up and clarity. Still I haven't had the privilege to use and see iPhone 6 and 6+.
My recent movie was bang bang and interstellar. Bang bang was rich and colourful with the ever lovely Katrina. And interstellar, everything good except for the concept of love and so and so. Come on, I am not watching Indian movies.. Pls bro.
One of the best games I have ever played after fifa is asphalt 8 airborne. Simply superb with amazing graphics and yes of course, battery drain. Can't help it when u have an high end game.
Camera app retrica is fun to use and play with. So is messenger, a new Google SMS app which beats hangouts completely. Messenger app is one to be tried for sure fellaawsss.
That's it. Until next time.. Ll be back with lollipop update soon.

Worldcup Fever
I expected Japan to win today against Ivory Coast, especially after their early goal. But what can you say, when such beautiful crosses and headers happen, after which, Japan lost their determination totally... Lost possession, poor defence, and panic. I dont know when India will qualify for World cup finals. And Asian teams never win :(
One match, which I wanted to see was Spain vs Holland.. That was a demolition from the Flying Dutchmen. If Robin Van Persie's header was a stunner, the great Arjen Robben's goals were scintillating. Especially his second and Dutch's fifth.. What speed from the great!! Spanish defenders didnt know what hit them.. It was simply a thunderbolt from Robben.. Messi or Ronaldo can be great.. But two men deserve more. One, the great Arjen Robben. And the other, no doubt, Angel Di Maria.. I will surely prefer Argentina and Holland finals, but Brazil, with its home support, are dangerous. But, the midfield doesnt appear impressive.
I am telling this to my mom. Exams will come every year. But world cup, comes once in 4 years.. And, its a real shock, as I woke up at 6AM on a Sunday, to watch a game ;-)
Now coming to some other opinion. I am really tired of these Samsung and Android things, as whatever we purchase, doesnt last even a year.. Now my Galaxy Grand, doesnt work properly for the past 6 months. Power button has gone, and Samsung personnel, whenever i give for service for phone hanging, they simply say, it should be reset, and advised not to install many apps. WTF!! Then why should I invest money and get Samsung from now on?? Whatever, only thing which wont hang i suppose, is the iPhone.. But, the budget is.. Oh cant even imagine :(
I am slowly becoming a car lover now. But i hate Nano to the core :(
My focus changed. Humming to Koodamela koodavechi song.. Bye then..

Life just goes on and on..
Coming into a world of postgraduation, the worst thing that a person can face is Thesis. That too, when we don't get a topic, life simply seems miserable. And, when you finally get a topic, you don't know whether it will work out. Just keep yourself cool, and keep on going. Thats the best thing one can do.
Some of the good movies i watched recently, are the Pizza 2, the villa; and Aarambam. Rest of the movies were horrible. Ethir neechal, which i watched on TV, is somewhat decent, especially with an awesome song. Come to Irandam ulagam, you will know, what time is all about.
I again tell my dear friends, please inform anyone you know about Breast cancer and its screening. I read an article yesterday, which says, there are 82 lakh ppl who are getting affected with cancer per month or so and breast cancer is increasing at an alarming rate. Dont let age fool you folks.. Breast cancer can be there even at an younger age.
I want to make it interesting. But i dont know how.
One thing is for sure for those who purchase android. Get ready to face slowdown of your mobile, no matter how many times you do a factory reset. All these manufacturers don't value our money. Don't give us quality products.
I have been having some doubts in recent times, and I am not getting an answer from anyone. My laptop works very well, except sometimes my passwords don't work in some websites. When i check whether it is due to some keyboard issue, i find that it works perfectly alright. I could type the same password in a word pad or a document but not in the password section. Anyone know what this problem is all about?? And the other one, Is WHATSAPP safe?? I find many places where it can be hacked.. Just want to know it.
Until next time, folks..
