On a duty based, mosquito rich, sleepless night, I finally received something for which i have been waiting for 10 days.. For which I was feverishly checking my phone like a mad man whether update had come.. And finally updated a 480mb file after which I was seeing wonders in my phone. My phone got updated to lollipop v 5.0. The moment I was waiting for as a proud owner of Nexus 5.
The first thing I noticed with lollipop is not appreciable. Phone turning on was slower.. It took more time to do so. One thing I didn't want it to.
Some facts about lollipop:
1. It has a very good notification screen. Which you can set to hide or show sensitive content with phone lock.
2. One finger drop shows notifications. Two finger drop shows full quick settings.
3. Flash light is default app.
4. Phone won't be in auto rotate mode. Go to accessibility and change. From then onwards you will see Portrait in quick settings.
5. No gallery app. I hate it. Default photos only. To lock the photos with app lock, you have to lock google + and then photos.
6. No need office suite. Comes with default docs excel and slides.
7. Priority interruptions, a welcome feature.
8. There is a hidden game inside settings in developer mode. Believe me.. Its difficult to cross even two lollipops.
9. Calls come like a sleek notification when you are using something. Very good indeed.
10. Pinning tabs. To unlock u need to press two keys together.
11. Appearance. Love it. My favorite teal based theme.
12. Faster. Charge also stays longer.
13. Third party apps that toggle mobile data like battery apps won't work.
14. White based menu which is not that great compared to KitKat.
15. Ease of use regarding quick settings is better. No need to press WiFi button and go inside and switch on. It directly works. So are Bluetooth and the rest.
Overall, my personal preference with lollipop is much better. The main thing is that, there is no network issues as of now which was a big question with nexus 5. No network issues and a faster updated user interface. You should probably upgrade when you wish. When you get such an update. Wait like a mad man or wait for OTA update.. Truly upgraded. Hats off to Google.
Until next time..
