     Well, the title may be fishy and stupid, but in two weeks, i got a chance to meet my friends.. School friends.. After those two beautiful years, meeting them ( not everyone, just a few) feels really good. To be honest, my DAV school life was the best i enjoyed. Better than college. For many people, college life is the best, but for quite a few it is the opposite. I belong to the latter.
   
      Mumbai Indians have won their Champions league title without Sachin, Rohit, Davy etc. Truth is always bitter. Sachin has a bad luck with captaincy. Good to see him on the winning side.. Congrats bhajji..

      I never understood this at all. Or many would have so. Why is that i cant sleep when i am free? And why is that i always feel sleepy, eyes burning etc etc when i take a book and start to read?? Some subjects are worse. Sleep comes, the moment i open the books. Guess its upto the great scientists!!

      Watched Vanthaan Vendraan. Awesome. ( watched last 5 min, adhuke intha nelamai..) But in those five minutes, Director has kept two twists. Dont worry, people gave you a big twist. FLOP!!! So is Muran!!

      When i read the papers before some years, it will be like bride suicide because of torture, dowry etc etc. Today morning, dinathanthi gave a big surprise. The headlines was, " Mamiyar mamanar kodumai thaangamal MARUMAGAN tharkolai".. Well, get ready, Kali kaalam at its peak.

       I don't like the new Facebook interface. Too much information cramped in. And Google who said it would take privacy seriously, has started to annoy now a days. Made me delete Google +, because there is no clear option of someone not adding you to circles no matter how you change your settings. Second, Google automatically logs with my email into youtube. Thats one thing i never wanted to happen. Some will like it, but i don't.

       UC web browser for mobile amaze me a lot. Really one of the best browsers for mobile. It clearly beats Opera mobile, because it doesn't say memory full, close applications. Also, it loads the pages faster. Tried twitter with it, and really, amazing compared to default mobile browser.

       Mayakkam enna songs are really good. Especially, voda voda and kaadhal en kaadhal songs. Ultimate lyrics. For Kali kaalam folks!! And Harris jayaraj needs to learn music first. Please don't always use copier.

       I am really bored as to when i can post my next blog.. I don't have much to say now a days, so I will type as i like. :)

       It was a really good two weeks for me.. Not with the studies... But with two marriages.. Met my friends and had a nice time.. Not to forget about the food.. I simply loved it. Moreover, many are saying that the common entrance test which was announced wouldn't be showing its face this year. Hope i get out of this mess soon..

       The day trains are really good for eating, but not good for sitting, especially with the second class.. Chennai to Katpadi doesn't hurt much, even with the Unreserved coaches.. But to Salem in a day train, it is  hectic.. But irctc gives their passengers something to eat often. ( Ofcourse, you need to pay). Most of the hot beverages they supply in the name of tea and coffee are purely hot waters. Tomato soup, well, i think it should be called as chilly soup with some tomato sauce mixed. But you get them on the train, don't you? But the reason most people buy it is not because of hunger, its because they are also bored, and they will feel better if they eat.. Many do so. ( Day trains to Madurai or Coimbatore, would be really hectic. )

        I am getting used to know the different type of customs and traditions that exist in other caste marriages.. Its really a wonderful thing to know.. Still more to go. A good time pass. And a nice place to meet your friends again.

        Google is constantly updating their interface.. I used gmail in it, it seems good, but the attractiveness is better with the old ones, and the speed is good with the new one. I am typing in the new interface now.. It has come to blogs also. If you can, then try it..

        I need to say this about facebook. Now a days, it has become lousy.. The new photo viewer with facebook sucks not with the resolution, but with the speed with which it loads.. The white background is attractive, the high resolution support is acceptable, but the way it loads, not at all acceptable.. But thats not the only thing i notice with it. The thing that most irritates me is the statuses i come across now a days. First, I love my mom, brother, sister, father, lover, teacher etc. You need not have to have this as a status, but you can go and convey it straight to them. I am sure, that many people who post as status never convey to the people whom it is intended.. If they could do so, those people would be really happy.. ( not saying for all, for those who just want to post as status.) The other one is the sms updates in status.. I don't know who started it, but it has really become a nuisance rather than a update.. ( Ofcourse, FB is).. You get the same sms, then update as status.. It is clear, that many want to update their status without anything to. Carry on the good work, folks!!! I am happy to see, that many of them are vettis like me.

        Firefox updates are irritating now a days, they just patch the bugs, but new things are not there. Also, the load time of pages has become slower with it. So, if i go for Chrome, there comes this Data execution prevention, which I am unable to override. Sad sad.

       I don't know where this country is going but i feel sad for the recent blasts.. The government doesn't do anything productive. If we ask them, who did it, they say that the bombs are made up of so and so family, species, subspecies and so on.. Really, who asked these.. Even with our education, we read many things which are useless... For eg, in medicine, there is a subject called biochemistry. Unless you want to read MD biochemistry, the following things wont be useful. What am I gonna do knowing the molecule turning the light to the right and left? They say it d and l isomers, seriously, I don't think it will be useful at all.. ( I hope the upcoming exams don't ask these and take me out of competition..) Our education system should change, as well as the government should answer more responsibly.. The highlight was that, they told the species and subspecies, and then the update was that, they have found the switch to trigger it.. Oh my God!!!!! Please save us.

       I don't think there will be any new updates over the next few weeks.. My classes are ending on 25th.. ( that means my exams are nearing, my prep is bad, and i can blabber on and on.. ) So, i will stop here.. Until, next time..

        I have been busy with my studies. Even if you ask me this question after 20 years, I will tell you the same. Never mind.

        The whole India is united now against corruption. ( Really? ) Anna Hazare is doing fasting, i think 10th day, and the government doesn't respond well to that.. I have only one question, why is the President not at all interested in these things? Isn't it not the President, the highest authority of our country? Other countries give very much importance to the President.. But our country don't even care about that person.. Why so? Is the President only for the armed forces? Not for anything else?

        Gold rates are roaring to new prices.. 1 gram of gold is near 2600 rupees. ( noting down to compare it after ten years ).. If this goes on, then there will be a situation where the bride's house will say, we are putting 50 GRAMS of gold for the bride, and 2 GRAMS of gold for groom.. ( lovers, never mind these...) Ofcourse, those who follow my blog are not :) Also, the food prices as well as the fuel ones are climbing.. If these goes on, then i might be putting 1 litre of petrol for 200 rupees. That day is not faraway guys..

        Indian cricket team faced a big whitewash against the Britishers in Tests.. Well, lets go for the color wash in ODIs. :)

        Facebook is going to introduce a new privacy feature where you can share items only to those you want. Like Google +. Seriously, i even doubt Google + will be of a challenge to facebook.. Not at all an attractive interface, and no members. Well, its gonna be like wave soon.. :)

        Nokia has partnered with yahoo, and the cool thing is you can download Yahoo messenger app from ovi store.. I downloaded and realized that it has the same smileys as in computer.. I don't use Yahoo msgr in computer coz it occupies more system resources, but if you can get smileys like that in mobile, and that too, if that app is developed by yahoo themselves, why not use it?? Moreover its free.. :)

        One of my friends was using Sony Xperia X10 and everything is awesome with that phone. except for the fact, the battery last less than 4 hours if you use it actively. So that phone changes from mobile to Sony Xperia Landline. You cant carry charger with you always, seriously.. Come on, android ppl, when r u gonna realize that android OS is for mobile and not for landlines??

        Last but not least, many are of the view ( including me ) that November session AIIMS and PGI exams will be there. Lets see how it goes. Until next time. :)

CET!!!

     Hello everyone, its nearly one and half months since i wrote my last blog. You want to know the reason? Well its simple. I don't use computers much now a days. All with mobile. Mobile also, internet is less. just 15 min at the max for facebook and twitter. Or some search. 15 min per day. Seriously, you can't believe me right? Even i can't believe myself.
     Let me remind you. My sweet nephew has gone to Germany, and always says mama mama mama. It has become his favourite word. Either to call me, or using as a general term. That little fellow understands everything now. Miss him a lot.
     Well, not much to update on the techno side. Saw a video about Microsoft's new OS which is due for next year hopefully, the Win 8. It seems they are finally upgrading themselves.. You won't like the transition from XP or Vista or Win 7. Complete transition at the start. Well, its future you know.. :)
      The next one is OS Lion for Mac. I will consider someone my dearest if they can get me a Mac Pro. With Thunderbolt technology. With OS Lion. With an Ipad. Well the specifications can change in the future. You can read the title in their site. The world's most advanced OS even advance further. They are the state of art. Windows don't even have a chance. I will surely get them one day. Soon. May be another 20 years.
       Google chrome is torturing me with Data execution prevention and constantly annoys me.. It has something to do with Vista and XP. And its their problem, not mine.
       I don't have any other interesting updates with technology side. I got my Joikuspot premium wifi as a free gift from Nokia Ovi store. Next Q? Am i using Joikuspot? Thats a good one, and the answer is no, but i have downloaded when something is given free of cost. :)
       Last but not least. This is for medicos out there. Common Entrance test, the biggest thing is going to play in my life this year. I am really disappointed with it for two facts. One, What if those 3 hours are not good for me. Two, why does USMLE pattern constantly follow me? I want to step out of it and  the dejection i experienced, but unfortunately, these people are trying to set the question paper on their format. Online exam also, which i don't think will show its head this year. This is just the beginning, there is a flowchart in Medical council of India website, which state many things to come. You can consider it in anyway. Boon or Curse, thats upto you. I have only hope right now, the hope that can push me to an higher level, and also get me my dream. ( both seat and Mac.) :)
        

Nomad among browsers

            Its been a long time since i wrote my last blog.. Many things have happened in the mean time.. Say starting from my nephew returning to Germany, to the CSK vs RCB cricket match.. I was really happy that day watching the IPL 2011 finals in Chepauk with my friends.. That was the first time i watched a match live.. Ofcourse, the cost was little bit on the higher side for the lowest ticket.. But who cares, sometimes, you need to go and enjoy rather than thinking about all these things.. The highlight was that, on the day of IPL finals was the champions league finals also, where Barca simply thrashed ManU.. Hail the great Messi!

            I have been wasting a lot of time recently, thanks to day dreaming, or night dreaming, or whatever you can call that.. Also had loads of fun hanging out with friends.. Chennai has been seeing some rain recently.. Infact, heavy rain.

            Now on the techno side. If you want to see a person who is a nomad among browsers, count me in. Seriously, i have been confused with the recent updates of Chrome and Rockmelt, as to use which browser on a day to day basis.. Rockmelt updated to its beta 3 yesterday, which is simply awesome to use for social networking. Starting from the better chat engines compared to the previous versions, to the integration of message, notification and facebook friend requests, Rockmelt is showing us a tremendous change as to what a social browser can do. You will notice that the top 3 symbols in facebook as well as the chat option on the bottom corner would have vanished if you use rockmelt. Yeah, they have integrated it, and its awesome.. No need to be in facebook, but you will be alerted everytime. Is that a disturbance? If you think so, then just click the one key Quiet mode. Isn't that awesome?

           Well, if thats on one side, then take this. Chrome also updated to its version 12, and the highlight is, Google is launching its voice search for desktop ( works for Chrome for the time being, and it is not rolled out yet, should wait for a few weeks ), and the Instant page feature. It is not Instant search as we already know, it is the instant page that will preload the page when you already type something. These have seriously made me think as which to choose between Chrome or rockmelt. The twitter feed in rockmelt, is still buggy for me. Hope it gets rectified.

           Google voice search is already there for mobile phones. Just go to m.google.com from your mobile, and see whether your mobile will support the web app. If so, then try the voice search. Its location based, guys.. Its definitely worth a try, though we need to speak clearly because of the Indian accent. It supports only U.S English, i think.

           Left Firefox? Don't worry. Seems Firefox is hit with a virus scam. Also there is this New facebook scam, so don't open anything regarding Newfacebook. Microsoft has issued some serious updates for Internet Explorer all versions. Apart from that, nothing new with the browsers. One thing, if you use Opera for mobile ( not mini version, the other one ), then you can definitely sync Opera on your phone with your desktop.

           A word from my experience so far. For viewing results, I mean, the examination results ( India has some of the worst servers, and so, more web traffic, and constant crashes with the website ) I would recommend to use Chrome. When other browsers can't open a webpage when the website is up, Chrome does the trick. I have checked this for quite some time. For social networking, its worth to try Rockmelt. For everything else, Chrome rules for the time being. We will see some new things soon.

         
   
            

FB spams

     Hello everyone.. Its nearly a month since my last post.. Life is so far so good.. Getting hammered with some exams, and  some are coming ahead.. So busy with its preparation. Apart from that nothing interesting going on..
   
     Last week, i had to go with the AIIMS entrance examination, and there were so many repeats which i didn't know.. Did silly mistakes as usual.  This week, PGI chandigarh exam is there. Lets see how it goes. Choosing one option among the MCQs is difficult. This exam will have multiple answers. So i will leave it to fate this week.
   
     Saw some movies, out of which engeyum kadhal is the worst with story line. Ofcourse, there is no story in that.. Kullanari kootam, muthuku muthaga were better. Seedan, a dhanush starrer which i watched for last ten minutes, was horrible. In this, Dhanush in and as Lord Muruga. I don't know whether Lord Muruga saw this movie. If so, he would be admitted in an hospital mostly.

     This month saw the change of power from DMK to ADMK, which people were longing for the past 5 years. So much hike in normal prices, and no safety, this period was one to worry about.. Hope Amma does something good for the people of Tamilnadu.

     Now for some Facebook spams.. I am gonna tell from my point of view how to avoid it. I am not a user who knows to write programs, or hack something. I am just a day to day user, so i will let u know from my point of view. Recently, there was a scam stating that you are tagged in this video. Moreover, that scam came as youtube link. Let me tell you something first. Any video in FB will play then and there and wont take you to a new page. Many didn't think about it, and pressed some sequence of commands. Don't know what happened to them, but i will say don't use internet banking if you don't know clearly about your security.

     There are so many spams, like how many viewed your Facebook profile, that too especially my X viewed it so many times.. Simply that was ridiculous. Moreover, if someone sends you a private message, stating you are stupid and you gotta see it, that too from a person you are not in constant contact; then don't even consider it. Even they don't know that something was sent to your profile from theirs. So don't worry whether they have told something like this, because they are also victims of these scams.

     If you are not sure of how to protect yourself, then take these tips. Use Firefox, use web of trust add-on, then make yourself comfortable with No script of Adblock plus and use it. Also, don't even allow access to any application unless you are sure with it. If the Facebook page takes you to authorization, i.e. your basic information, and asks allow or not allow, simply press  Don't Allow. Because half of your privacy is stolen by means of this. If you are taken to that page, then consider it not once or twice, but thrice. And remove your unwanted applications from your Privacy--Application settings. Also Use a trustworthy antivirus ( internet security) software like Kaspersky or ESET.

   Finally, a word of caution. Using internet banking is easy, but protecting your banking is going to be difficult, especially when facebook is torturing with these scams. So please protect yourself from Facebook and these scams. It won't hurt to use separate browsers for your banking and facebook, ( ofcourse, if its in your machine, you can't help it ), but this is safe if you are a novice. Better learn about some security details, computers are easy, but never get addicted to it like i am right now. See you soon. 

New chrome 11

        Hello everyone, i don't have much to say in this post, so i will keep it as short as it can be. As usual, nothing interesting going on except for the routine classes, and my nephew's thiruvilayadalgal. Thats it, nothing more.
        I saw some movies this week, out of which Ko was good, but to be honest, the movie was like 75% puthiya mannargal ( old movie ) and then the story starts. The last 25% part was really good, and so the movie is good time to spend. Not like the other super heroes' dabba movies.
        Next was Just go with it.. It was nothing less than amazing. ( If you don't like the movie, never tell me or hit me ). For a moment i started to think who was hot, whether it was Jeniffer Aniston, or the other girl. It was two good hours of laughing even if  the story is what we already know.  The picturisation in Hawaii is simply mind boggling(atleast for me). In simple words, Don't miss it.
        Now for some tech bits. I am trying to get a good twitter application for my Nokia E72. Unfortunately, none of the applications that are available are good. First i tried Tweets 60, which was good for two weeks, then started to hang every time i use it. Then i tried Trill, which is not that good because you need to refresh it every time to receive your tweets. And recently, both didn't work, and both started to hang. Then, i decided to go for the omnipresent Snaptu, which was good, but one flaw. It takes too much time to load. Even with 3G, I don't like the idea of loading your 9 apps only with internet, after you have launched that application. Also, it takes too much of hand circling around head to reach your nose.
        Finally, i decided to go for m.twitter.com, which was way better than all the other applications. After adding a bookmark, you can launch it just like an application. I realized that twitter website itself has applications, but it is for higher class people. That is, those who use iphone, ipad, blackberry, and android. In short, celebrities.
        Now, to discuss about the topic. Google chrome launched its version 11, with some language translation with voice, which i am yet to find; but the news is that it has patched some 27 malwares, for which it has given a reward of $16,500 to those who notified Google of these malwares. Update your chrome, but i am yet to discover how many of us will really use that voice thing.
        I recently installed all those add-ons of Firefox which i mentioned in my previous posts. Apture highlights, instant fox are the new additions to it ( ya, i found out the name and installed ) . Only thing, I don't use firefox now a days. FF is boasting that its version FF4 has reached 100 million downloads. Seriously, i don't know what are they thinking. They have to see how many of those 100 million actively use Firefox for everything. Answer, not me, not now a days.
        I am thinking of trying Ubuntu OS on my laptop and see what are these open source platforms all about. I am just thinking whether my champion super laptop can handle it.  If i do, then i will let you know about Ubuntu.

Long one..

       Hello everyone, well, i should say hello to 2 or 3 people who follow this blog. But recently i found out that my page was viewed from USA, Russia ( once) and South Africa ( once ). Thank you everyone for wasting your precious time in this stupid blog. I am really happy that some people have actually viewed this blog across the world.
       What i have been doing these three weeks? Yeah, i have been asking this same question to myself. I joined speed class, first class was really boring, second class was good, now continuing my usual routine. In the meantime, I have been to some temples. Infact, three temples in four days. Make it four in four for my family. Yeah they have been doing a lot so called outing, and most of the outing have been to temples. Where else can you go as a family in chennai, when you have seen all the four malls, then T.nagar shops  and beach? ( well, my family have become regular customers for New Saravana stores and Pothys).
       The first temple was Nanganallur Hanuman Temple. I like that temple always. The view of Lord Hanuman always signifies power in his looks and also humbleness with his hands praying. Also, the taste of sakkarapongal given there. Its simply awesome. Nothing less than that. With a taste of ghee in it, they have made my mind to visit the temple again and again. Actually, i went to my friend's place and with him went to the temple. After i got the sakkarapongal and started to eat, for some moments, i wasn't able to hear what my friend was speaking to me. Then i realized, namaku than saapdum bodu kaadu kekkathae :P
      The next was Triplicane Parthasarathy Temple. I wanted to go to that temple for a long time, because the same friend likes that temple very much and told many stories ( ofcourse, i dont remember any ); and finally i went to that temple after x no of years. While on the travel, we had two scratches to our car, then there was crowd in that temple, but finally i saw the Holy meesai vaitha Perumal there. I have to visit the temple again when that temple is free as i didn't have an experience of going to that temple peacefully.
      The third is Thiruninravur Bakthavatsala perumal temple. Well, Thiruninravur is 35 km from my place, but it took nearly two hours to reach in that traffic. We finally made to that temple when the temple was about to close, the temple officials waited for their last minute pooja, and i heard its one of the holy 108 divya desam temples of India. Surely, don't miss that temple. It is good to visit atleast once.
       My sister and nephew have went to my native place, and they had a good drama when they went in domestic airlines. The domestic airlines rules state that everyone should checkin before 45 minutes to one hour, which they change to their leisure, and my sister was five minutes late for the check-in, and was made to buy another ticket in Jet airways. The loss will amount to some 4000 rupees, but seriously, we are angry with Kingfisher for doing so. Take this, Madras to madurai, 50 minutes flight, you need to checkin before an hour, so you have to start before two hours, and when you go out, it is another one hour. Therefore you lose precious three to four hours in just waiting. For that, i would say, Trains are far better. Airlines are better only in cases where you can avoid 2 days train travel. Otherwise, don't book in flights unless you are a lady and taking your kid alone. Waste of time. Waste of precious money.
       I casted my vote in the recent Tamilnadu elections, and lets see who comes to power next month. I am really happy when Trisha was made to wait for 20 minutes to caste her vote. Seriously, they  are also humans like us. They are not Gods. They also have to behave the rules of nature, pardon me, rules of ques. But some of them were angry because, people, even when they can walk well, they were going ahead saying they were senior citizens. I was waiting to see a physical fight in my polling booth, but then the police made all to wait except for the very worse senior citizens. Thank god, they only had senior citizen reservation and not BC, MBC, SC, ST for this election also.
      Now for some Tech news. Rockmelt launched and updated most to their beta 2 version. The features? New Twitter app, which is extremely cool, and the change in chat box pinning them to the lower end of the browser. Those who haven't used rockmelt, try once. Live life. Enjoy technology if you like social networking.
      Opera launched their new version saying it is fast. I actually don't find it faster than chrome. But i have to say, Opera are really innovators.. Nowadays, seeing all these browsers, I am really angry with Firefox, not for being pioneers, but for stealing others' ideas. Example? Their appearance is just like Opera. Not enough? Recently they recommended their Top 10 favourite addons. One among them is i think Aspert heights or so, ( i don't remember the name, please search later ) its feature is simple. You type g and then word in address bar, and it searches in google. b and word for bing. a for amazon. Seriously, this is your recommended add-on?? It is way cool, but if you have used Opera, you will know the reality.  Because, that is a feature of Opera's previous  10th edition.Opera deserves those credits. Also, firefox is having some trouble in loading some important webpages. Like some examination websites, or websites where you need to print, dont use firefox. It fails miserably. Not because it is worse. The webpages are not upgraded, but firefox has to bear these in mind. Not webpages. All these has made me to hate firefox recently and not to use it.
       If you use Chrome or Rockmelt, try to use an app called Bluum. I am not gonna say what it is, just find out. Just the usual search thing.  Its way cool except for that purple theme. There is no recommended browser right now, everyone keeps adding one thing or so, and the winners are us, for using these features.

Its Hi-time...

        This is my last Sunday being free, from next week, i will be either in Speed class or writing an exam for the next 7 or 8 months. Its about time I start my preparations seriously and get settled in the so called study groove and claim a good seat of my choice. If i score a high rank, then its my decision. If i dont, then surely, its not in my hands. It will be their decision. Thats one thing i don't want to give up to them and decide my fate. I want  to decide myself whatever good or bad it is, and not regret for it later.
 
         My laptop is doing all sorts of problems, getting hanged constantly, that too when i watch some youtube videos.. And suddenly, i get some strange sound from the fan. It can be compared to only one thing. High noise producing water motor pump.

         I wanted to change my laptop before it dies out, and if that happens, there wont be any selling price for it. Also, its been 3 years since i am using an age old historical Intel Celeron processor with Windows Vista Ultimate, and the laptop that has seen Europe and USA seriously deserves some rest from me. But still, it works like a champion except for those strange noise, and the heat that it produces like a furnace (seriously if u keep it in your lap, then i can't guarantee anything for your future, actually, i have to worry about it ). Hard disk problem, Fan cooling unit problem, if i go for repairing it, i will spend 5000 rupees at the minimum, but i want to sell it for some good price and get that Sony Vaio that captured me.. But unfortunately, when i think about it, I know i haven't done anything useful for my family, and therefore i don't want to put unnecessary burden to my family on this also. ( yeah, already i am )
   
          Thing that can be obtained in life for free of cost.. Tons and tons of advice. Its always irritating to listen to them especially when it comes from people who don't know about it. And thats what i am facing right now. They speak like they know everything ( ofcourse, all youngsters speak like that, and i am no exception, and don't ask when i became an youngster) and irritate you to the core. That has actually made me to take a challenge of not going to my native place till I have got a PG seat to my name. Also a challenge of not speaking to many friends till i have the same. Not everyone, but many.

          You need extreme amount of patience if you want to drive in Nungambakkam station subway and also, chetpet bridge.. Drive after 6 pm till 8 pm, and you will know what i am talking about. Heavy traffic, pollution, summer time, first gear and lots of petrol consumption, it will push you to the core of patience. Same applies to V.N  Road after 5 pm.

          As i told, this is the last Sunday i can spend my time at home and for the next 8 months, I will be out. To be honest, everyone would enjoy this day, but in my position, i don't even have the will to enjoy and all i can concentrate is one thing. Studies. I am dreaming for a day when i can tell my parents that i have scored a good rank and i can get my specialty of choice in a good college. All that matters is positive approach and strong will power, and if i can achieve it, then i can read with a mind that a good thing awaits for me in the horizon. But one question remains.. When?????

       

    

After a long time...

     Well, its been a month since i posted my last blog. The reason was, I was depressed, and i was preparing for an exam. I got depressed because i didn't get a seat. But thats life. Time to move on for next year.
      Now anything happened interesting? No, i am sure about that.. Apart from my nephew's naughtiness, nothing was new. He is getting naughtier day by day.. You can deduce from the fact that he made us to change our LCD tv to another ordinary TV given by the Tamilnadu Govt. One more minute, and that LCD would have been history. The sad part, I don't get some important channels because it doesn't have all the bands it should have.
      Kids, now a days, are more interested in electronics than playing toys. But, i realized that they play with electronics rather than toys. My nephew actually walks on laptop ( now i know, why it is called a LAPtop  :P) and also toppled the computer monitor.. Then he pulls out all the wires, batteries, and all medicine bottles. We need to constantly monitor him, otherwise, the house will be in disarray. Already it is. But we love it..
      Time for some technic titbits.. First of all, I need to know what Google chrome has in mind, because they introduce newer versions without significant changes. Firefox has released their RC, and finally, finally and finally, cool iris is back with it.. ( Its an add-on ) Apart from that, there are no other significant changes.
       I recently came across a browser named Rockmelt, and i am really stunned with the features it has. Rockmelt is a social browser, where you need to log in with Facebook account, and you can add twitter and youtube to the sides. Really guys, give a try.. Its awesome. And it uses the same Google chrome base. I mean chromium open source. ( Never, ever ask me what is chromium; i also dont know ) After installing the browser, i realized i spend all the time in internet in social networking.. Yeah, call that productive... Seriously, useless to the core... Social networking sites eat time. But cant help it. Yes i am addicted to it. Dot.
       My friend told me about an app called Joiku spot, for Nokia mobiles.. Its an app that converts your mobile internet to wifi tethering. Seriously, i needed that.. So, if any of you have nokia wifi mobiles, try it. You will love it. And i realized the speed of 3G today. I have an airtel connection, and that wifi tethering gave me a speed of 2.5 MBPS. Well, there is a way to spend money even with 3G... :) Its upto you whether to purchase full version or the light free version. I belong to the latter. ( For those who don't know wifi tethering, its just that your phone will act as wifi router).
      I watched movies like Black swan, 127 hours and some others. ( they dont even deserve to be named ) 127 hours was awesome, Black swan, same old psycho story, but Natalie deserves full credits to it. Her acting was simply amazing.. Next is Kings speech which i will let you know after i see it.
       World cup cricket has reached its Q/F stage. And India are shaky. Sachin's jinx is on. And our Dhoni, he is blaming others as usual rather than concentrate on his batting. ( seems he is working on his vocabulary) And India's nightmare in the form of reverse swing showed its head against westindies. We may see its full form soon against quality bowling attacks.
        Well, its high time for some serious studies.. Like that of Vodafone zoozoo... :) 

Simply Tired.

      So whats up with me all this time. Simple. My nephew came from Germany, and yeah, our whole family is running behind him, unable to control what he can do. Seriously, all kids are naughty now a days. We have started to buy toys and all sort of things.. The highlight??? The High frequency radio remote controlled car. For 235 rupees, thats one worth of a purchase. The odd side, Yeah ofcourse, he doesn't play. I do.
   
     You need to see what a supercomputer looks like. How much it will cost? 7 billion?? Trillion? Millions? Its 700 rupees. To buy it saravana stores, yeah, that looks cool.. My nephew just kicks it and then presses with all of his hands. These toys are meant for not less than 3 years. But kids, exposed to computers now a days, know whats computer better than us even at a very young age. And my nephew jumped towards this when he saw it there.

    Facebook keeps on introducing some new features, out of which, the photo viewer is really good. Some may not like it, but i like it simply because of the fast loading of the photos. Ofcourse, you shouldn't compare with the lightning speed loading of Google Chrome as they told in the youtube video. :P

   Last but not least, Tamilnadu postgraduate medical entrance exam is round the corner, on March 6, and I am really afraid with it, because, even though the questions tend to be easier, the competition is unimaginable. With so many service quotas, and all others who prepared extremely well compared to me, it is natural that i have to be afraid. If there is God, i ask him only one thing. Please give me a seat. It has been 2 long years wasting my time for nothing. I keep you reminded as follows.

    If you don't get what you deserve and what you want in time, Then it loses its value........

Hi there, This time i decided to just update my blogs what i have written.

First, Opera 11 vs Chrome 9 vs FF 4 beta 11 :
Firefox has installed Do not track.. Just go to advanced preferences and check that you do not want to be tracked. And there, I saw some changes with FB ads, though i dont know whether they are really participating. It will take some time to get used to these, so that all of those websites will change to Do not track status. Anything else new? I dont think so.. It seems all the others are same.

Chrome 9 is also fast now contrary to 8, and they already have a Keep my opt-outs add on.. So they may be the pioneers in Do not track feature right now. And all these browsers, now made a simple change.. They have added a feature called pin tab, which when u resume the browser again, starts with that. Its sleek and simple. I do that with firefox as well as chrome.

Opera 11? I dont think so. It seems they have lost in this. They dont have this Do not track status. But one thing is that, I finally figured out which was troubling me with Opera. The scroll function. It seems that i finally figured it out. Smooth scrolling. Uncheck it, and your scroll wont run away from you. ( Just check out my previous blog, you will understand what i am saying).

Facebook and https : And i would like to tell you something about facebook. I dont know how many of you are aware of Mark Zuckerberg's account getting hacked before. So what he did was, introducing https not only for login page, but wherever applicable. Your account settings has this Option. Check https if you want to. The problem, is that many applications dont follow https. So if you are playing games, then it wont work in that. So you need to use http.. :( Sad , i want to use https. ( For those who dont know what is https and http.. http is simply hypertext transfer protocol; simple terms, unsafe. https, secure http.. it is safer.

Yeah, I am going to add about the jet lag. Yes, i am hit with that, so i am sleeping for 4 hours and getting up as bright as i can. Many of you can ask me, you should be sleeping in day time. The thing is I am unable to.. I cant sleep even if i want to.. May be it was because of the exam that is coming up. Really i am stressed out, with a complete flop in Usmle,  which has doomed my chances there; and the upcoming exams in India which are really stressful. Hope i get out of it soon. 

Travel ( while in frankfurt)

      Alright, Time for next blog. This time I will write about the experience I had during this week with snow storm..  One hell of an experience. With almost 6000 flights cancelled, its very difficult to see whether the flight I was supposed to leave will be on schedule or not. And there it was, I left USA no matter what happened, even if it’s the inevitable. Even if was an hour’s delay, I reached Frankfurt at the exact timing, just to see it was also snowing there. So bored, so tired, especially when you don’t have an nights sleep, even if u think of sleeping, It doesn’t occur, and when it was about to, the plane landed.  I don’t find how I can sleep well in the next flight also.

    Yes, I am right. Even if u think I can sleep in the next flight, I wont be able to do so. You know why? Simple. When you are about to sleep, the cabin crew will wake you up for breakfast, then lunch and finally dinner. The worst part is that everything will occur in 8 hours. And I knew one thing is going to happen for sure. I am gonna have one hell of a jet-lag.
 

    Entertainment in the flight? Do you think I will be missing those? No way. There was social network, Due date ( although I don’t wanna see the edited one) and some other movies. Well, Social network, to be honest, I just understood the story, but never did the codes and all other stuff. It was more towards a computer oriented person.. I mean a specialist in computers. Not for those who just handle internet daily. The movie was simply in many places, programming language.

      And what can I expect? Usa hit with its 8^th snow storm. Good thing isn’t it? And Midwest including Dallas received snow. A friend of mine was so happy to go out with shorts and T shirt just before 2 days, and now, its been ruined. The weather god is playing it cruelly. 12 F. There is no way you can enjoy that weather. But I am atleast happy New York and New jersey escaped the pinch.

      I just want one thing now. Just to get back home. And then sleep. Its gonna be another 9 hour long flight, but I hope it will end soon, and I can go back and rest happily without mosquitoes.

Opera 11 vs chrome 8 vs Firefox 4 beta

       I wanted to write about this topic based on my own experiences. I really love to compare the browsers, so that someone somewhere in this world will agree with my point about this topic. I am not an expert in computers, but, I am doing this with the mindset of a common man who needs a good web browser to use for his daily day to day activities. Or is it the best browser what he needs.. Does such a thing exists? Lets see.
   
     I am going to compare 3 browsers - Opera 11, Chrome 8 and Firefox 4 beta 9. Now lets take Chrome  first. Chrome is the most common browser i used because of its sleek style and the hundred thousand horse powers that it has to start when you use a slower somewhat lousy system compared to the Supercomputers that are available.. ( I have 1.5 GB RAM in my laptop).. Till Google chrome 7, the web browser had the same thing that it had to. That is , the power to start faster compared to other browsers, especially, when u open a link, or open a browser urgently after you have shut down your system. But, after the app store was introduced and after Google chrome updated to its 8th version, I found out that Google chrome was not fast as it supposed to be with the earlier versions. Especially, when you use applications and also themes, Google chrome lacked the main thing i required. Speed. It took so much time to start up, even after i reinstalled it.  Then, coming to the applications, yes, there are some good applications, but that will never come like you use firefox.
  
    I came across a funny video in internet, about Google chrome browser getting compared to lightning and all sorts of things. That sort of things, never happen when i use Google chrome browser, because i suppose, that has to be something with the internet connection. Yes, it can be compared to lightning, when you use a 1GBPS connection as the developers there use it. But, I dont know what will happen when Raijin, the God of Lightning comes to know about this.
 
    Next I will go for Firefox 4 beta 9. Exactly looking like Opera, ( some say that the design was actually adapted by Firefox first, so I am not going into arguments as to who found it first) this version is really sleek compared to the other versions.. Firefox is my most favourite browser, because i feel it is safe than the others, though i know Google chrome is even safer. Now the reason why i told Chrome 8 start up was slow is because of firefox start up. It doesn't do any problem, and starts even faster than chrome now a days. Firefox, i suppose has stepped up their gasoline finally.. beta 8, when i first downloaded had so many problems, like constantly annoying message like not responding etc. But that was done well with 4 beta 9, where it is faster than all the other browsers now. And the stability is also excellent.

     The most important thing that makes me love Firefox are its add-ons. I know so many people use it, but i like to share some information about some of the add-ons which you will all love. First is No script, which is the best script blocker i have used that blocks simply everything. You surely need to use it when you are in Western countries like USA, because, the amount of advertisements that you can see it here is far far greater than other countries. Simply those advertisements will make you mad. But, I need to warn you about one thing, because any good thing will come with a penalty, and no script or for that matter, any script blocker is not an exception. You need to white list certain banking sites before you use it, because, when you use it to make transactions without making yourself familiar with the script blockers, then you are gonna pay the prize for a failed transaction or something else. Ofcourse, you wont lose your money, but the failed transaction will force you to postpone your transaction for tomorrow. ( I hope those who use online banking will understand what i say).. But anyway, when you are familiar with no script, then there you go, one of the best things you will have which will save you when you use a free antivirus.

     The next add-ons are Cool previews and cool iris, which are simply the best add-ons to show you off that you know so many things in computers. Simply, those two add ons are nothing less than excellent. Then there is Download status bar, weather bug ( Aniweather, i feel is far more stuffed and so it gets blocked by no script, and seriously, you dont want weather add on to show you a whole website like thing), then Foxyproxy, Turn off the lights. Turn off the lights is available for all these three browsers, so it wont be a problem. With beta 9, only a few add-ons work, and i am saying about some add-ons, that i have worked with 3.6 version..

   Next is Opera 11. Now this browser is always underestimated, because it is also fast to start, and nothing less than the other two browsers. The seriously powerful Opera Turbo will help you in networks like public wifi, where you want to see some important things fast. I am not speaking about security, as always, public networks, then your security is compromised. I am just saying the way you can use it compared to the other browsers. With a slight blur in the photo things, Opera Turbo is simply a super charge to the already powerful browser. ( If you stop Turbo, then photos will be crystal clear). Even otherwise, the browser is simply fast, and is always neck to neck with Chrome, as it is really good.

     The main thing i like about Opera are the two add-ons.. Youtube ads free, which actually stops that 15 sec or 30 sec advertisement that appears in front of videos. Those ads, for heavens sake, really annoys me. And then, turn off the lights, when you use it with it,makes your viewing really peaceful. I know, add-ons like Turn off the lights actually darkens even the video, but i dont notice any change even if the program has to be written like that. ( Don't argue with me about that program language as i am not a computer geek). The main disadvantage of Opera, yes i feel it, is the scrolling that you do when you use it. I dont know why Opera doesn't fix it.. If any of you have that problem, then you will know what i am saying. Even with the previous versions, when you scroll and stop, it simply scrolls down even when your computer is not having slow down or anything. I checked that with other browsers at the same time, and i say, that's the only thing that makes me not to use Opera.

    And with this, I will like to tell you again, I am not writing with developer's view; rather I write it with the day to day activities for a common person. I am not interested in IE 9, as i basically dont like the explorer. With these simple tips, I know you can bring the best out of your browsers, and if you want a better browser for all right now, then Firefox 4 beta 9 is far better as i find it faster now a days, and that has made me to switch back completely from chrome. Surely, each browser has its specialty, and each is better than the other in some way, but the search for the best web browser will always be there for our lifetime.

Real Madrid Vs Villareal Sun, Jan 9 , 2011

      This was a match i suddenly started to see. I am a fan of soccer, but i dont have enough time to watch all matches. Believe it or not, this turned out to be a fantastic match after all. Villareal opened the scoring with their No.10 opening the score with a beautiful chip shot.. The fault was to blame with Real madrid defense as they were clueless as to where their opponents where. Two minutes later, It was Cristiano Ronaldo's fine touch to level the score.

      If the start of the match was like this, dont ever think it was over. Because, the second goal from villareal was one of the finest and one of the most beautiful goals you can ever see. It was a clear superb controlled shot from the striker which left Real Madrid dumbfounded. I would love to see that goal again for sure. But just before half time, it was Xabi Alonso and CR's excellent combi to score a fantastic equalizer.

     Thats it. It was time for RM to strike back. If the first half was for Villareal, the second half was exclusive for RM. Ronaldo missing a golden chance, where he was showing off some skills near the goal keeper, but everything turned out to be useless. Then, it was Kaka who came in near 68th minute or so, started to get used to that pitch, and there, what can you expect from a genuine brazilian gamemaker when a chance comes on his way? He just set up CR, again he fumbled, but he adjusted himself and scored a goal thereby completing his hat-trick. Though the goal was controversial, things like these are bound to happen in soccer. Esp, after all those things that happened in world cup.

    Then we could see the playmaker enjoy a delight of what is called scoring. It was CR's turn to assist, and there was the golden touch from Kaka. Finally match ended 4-2. Nice to see the two star players of RM striking hard at the opponents.

Drawback : Definitely Real madrid's defense is worrying. Constant overlap is nice, but the same cant be done against top clubs like Barca. It is because of the defense, RM went down 0-5 to barca in camp nou. I hope i can see a change in RM with Kaka coming in, during the return game against barca. Lets hope we can see a good game in April.

First time

       This is the first time I am using a blog. So i need some time to get used to it before i post something enjoyable and useful. So bear with me guys, I will do some research about it and I will start it.
       I never had any interest in writing blogs especially when so many social networks are available. And that too in this facebook age, I have completely forgot that some websites called blogs exists. I should thank my friend for constantly posting his blogs and thereby inspiring me to try this old but powerful technology. May be i will take some time to analyze what kind of topics i can post in these blogs so that it will be useful. And also a blog, should be interesting to read rather than just blabber around.
